The sophomore forward notched his 28th goal of the season in double-overtime to beat 10th-seeded Potomac 2–1 and capture the Saints' second state VISAA Division I title in three years.
Levengood's game-winner came off a shot from Graham Mauck '17 that was saved and bounced back to captain Garrett Levy '17, who took a shot that hit the crossbar and landed right in front of Levengood, who buried his shot with ease.
"I followed up on the ball and saw that I had a bunch of time," Levengood said. "I faked out their two defenders and I just hit it side net and then I was just running to the team. I was celebrating and was so happy."
The top-ranked Saints (22–1–1) took a 1-0 lead into halftime after a goal by Ben Cooper '19 in the 36th minute. However, Potomac (11–6–3) retaliated early in the second half with a goal from forward Jamal Thompson.
The game, per VISAA playoff rules, went into two five-minute overtime periods. The fist overtime period ended scoreless, but the second overtime period was ended short by Levengood's goal in the 87th minute, much to the delight of a sizeable crowd of STC students and parents on hand at Sports Backers Stadium on a Saturday night that saw temperatures dip down below freezing.
