In a matchup of two of the top private school teams in the state, the Saints varsity soccer team fell 1–0 to Bishop Ireton on Tuesday afternoon at Jacobs Field.

The lone goal came in the 78th minute, a chip shot over the head of keeper Jalen Maurice '17. The Saints (5–1–1) pressured the Cardinals for the rest of the half, but could not find the back of the net.

St. Chris will look to get back on the winning track on Friday as they square off against Trinity at Meadow View in the opening round of the Eastern Mennonite Classic. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.
