Austin '22, Carnley '22 and Garner '23 also honored by VISAA.
Catcher Carter Schmitt '22 was named VISAA Player of the Year after leading the Saints to a 21-6 record and a berth in the VISAA semifinals.
It's the third time in five years that StC has the VISAA player of the year, joining Nick Biddison in 2018 and Griff O'Ferrall in 2021.
Schmitt batted .488, had 41 hits, 35 RBIs and a school-record 13 doubles, all best on the team. He's ranked in the top five all-time in school history in numerous categories.
Three others made the VISAA team: First Team - Pitcher/First Baseman Sterling Austin '22: Went 6-3 on the mound as StC's ace. Struck out 66 batters in 44 innnings, with a 2.86 ERA. Also hit .297 with 22 hits and six doubles.
- Third Baseman Bradley Garner '23: Delivered a .353 average at the plate from the clean-up and leadoff spots. Totaled 30 hits, including seven doubles and 16 RBIs. Also pitched 10.1 innings and only gave up two hits.
Second Team - Shortstop/Pitcher Jacob Carnley '22: Batted .342 and swiped eight bases. Vital at shortstop and on the mound, going 4-1 with a 1.40 ERA with 38 strikeouts.
