Schmitt '22 Co-Prep League POY

Carnley '22, Austin '22, Garner '23 and Douthat '24 honored.
Catcher Carter Schmitt '22 was named Prep League Co-Player of the Year after leading the Saints to a 21-6 record and a berth in the VISAA semifinals.

Schmitt batted .488, had 41 hits, 35 RBIs and a school-record 13 doubles, all best on the team. 

The Saints also shared the Prep League title, and put four other players on the All-Prep team: 
- Shortstop/Pitcher Jacob Carnley '22: Batted .342 and swiped eight bases. Vital at shortstop and on the mound, going 4-1 with a 1.40 ERA with 38 strikeouts.

- Pitcher/First Baseman Sterling Austin '22: Went 6-3 on the mound as StC's ace. Struck out 66 batters in 44 innnings, with a 2.86 ERA. Also hit .297 with 22 hits and six doubles.

- Third Baseman Bradley Garner '23: Delivered a .353 average at the plate from the clean-up and leadoff spots. Totaled 30 hits, including seven doubles and 16 RBIs. Also pitched 10.1 innings and only gave up two hits.

- Pitcher Jim Douthat '24: Stepped into the #2 pitching spot and shined with a 5-2 record and 2.00 ERA. Struck out 43 batters in 42 innings of work. Wasn't too shabby at the plate, either, with a .342 average and 25 hits.

The Saints also won the Sportsmanship Award for the league.
