Lower School Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is an integrated approach to teaching technology, library, and information literacy skills within the context of classroom curriculum.
Working collaboratively with teachers and boys, librarians and technology specialists support student and teacher learning within the context of the classroom. The program is designed to empower students and faculty to become inquisitive thinkers, enthusiastic readers, proficient researchers, and ethical users and creators of information. A diverse library collection and opportunities for global engagement through technology help students develop empathy as they learn about multiple perspectives. Boy-friendly programming such as robotics, clubs, author visits, and reading competitions engage young learners.  In our current one-to-one device model, boys have a variety of opportunities to express their learning in creative ways while also learning to be responsible digital citizens.
