Basketball has tough weekend

The varsity basketball team fell 40-37 to Trinity Episcopal Friday night, and then lost 52-43 at Fork Union in a Saturday afternoon game.

In the TES game, the Saints led 30-19 heading into the fourth quarter before the Titans made a furious comeback, ending in a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Blake Bowen.

Nick Sherod '16 had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Alexander Petrie '17 13 points for the Saints.

Only 16 hours later, StC traveled to Fork Union and trailed 31-30 only for the Blue Devils to score 21 points in the fourth period to pull away late.

Sherod poured in 24 points and had 15 rebounds, 12 defensive. Petrie scored nine.

The Saints (4-4 Prep League, 13-6) will host rival Benedictine Tuesday at 6 pm.
