Reinhart shines as Saints move on

Senior delivers three assists
Porter Reinhart '13 was the epitome of a competitor Monday afternoon.

The senior forward won seemingly every 50-50 ball and outworked Woodberry's defenders to deliver assists on each Saints goal in a 3-1 win over the Tigers.

"I don't think I've had a game like this in my whole soccer career," Reinhart said after the win. "It was a great feeling the whole game.

"I just go hard and hope something good happens."

Boy, did it. With the game knotted at one, Reinhart raced a ball down and beat a defender to the left of the goal, delivering a beautfiul pass through the Woodberry keeper right into the foot of fellow senior David Monse for a 2-1 lead late in the second half.

About six minutes later, Reinhart won a 50-50 and held off three WFS players before tapping it to William Finch '14, who tickled the twine for the final margin.

Reinhart, the William & Mary baseball commit, and the Saints will face another Saints team, No. 1 seed St. Stephen's-St. Agnes, Wednesday at 5:30 pm at Sports Backers Stadium for a trip to Friday's final.

STC fell to SS/SA 1-0 in the first regular-season game of the season on August 31.
