St. Christopher's wrestling team, fresh off its 10th straight Prep League and Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state titles headed to Lehigh University for the National Prep Wrestling Tournament Thursday.
Competition commences Friday and Saturday as the Saints took home a 7th place finish in 2010 as a team, the highest finish SC has ever had.
This year's unit may not garner that type of finish, but the boys are looking for top-10 placement.
David Wesley is the only returning All-American, finishing second at 160 in last year's competition. He's down to 152 a year later.
Fellow senior Trey Tarr is very hungry. Seeded ninth at 160, he became ill at last year's tournament and couldn't compete.
Throw in senior Ben Thompson and a bunch of young wrestlers that have hit their peak, and the Saints could surprise the competition.
Here's a list of all of the wrestlers competing at nationals this weekend:
David Wesley '11 (152 pounds) Trey Tarr '11 (160) Ben Thompson '11 (285) Quent Alcorn '12 (171) Robert Janis '13 (130)
