STC to Host Electronics Recycling Event

St. Christopher’s School and Computer Recycling Initiative will hold a recycling event for the disposal of computers and other outdated electronics on Saturday, November 11, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Lower School on St. Christopher’s Road.
During collection hours, volunteers will accept outdated computers, monitors, televisions, printers, cell phones and other electronic devices. A nominal fee is charged for items with cathode-ray tubes due to the massive amounts of lead in the glass and the associated recycling costs. The charges are: $7 for monitors, $10 for TVs and $20 for large TVs. There is no charge for cell phones, keyboards, batteries, VCRs, CPUs, printers, copiers, and phone systems.  The school's last four collection efforts gathered nearly 73 tons of recyclables.
