Track State Runner-Up

StC: three individual champs & a record.
The outdoor track and field team placed second in the VISAA state outdoor track and field meet at Sports Backers Stadium Saturday, May 17.

The effort was highlighted by three state-champion performances and a school-record.

Jayden Brown '25 won the 110-meter hurdles with Victor Olesen '26 getting third and Durham Dodson '25 fifth. Brown also placed third in the 300 hurdles with Henry Nelson '27 fourth.

Olesen won the pole vault with an effort of 15-6 battling a windy day. Ryan Scammell '26 also scored (7th). 

Maddox White '26 won the 200 on his way to a terrific meet. White helped the 4x100 relay team of Addison Gosline '25, George Julias '26 and Elisha Asare '26 (fourth in 100, 7th in 200) to a second-place finish and a school record of 41.85. Woodberry had to run a meet record 41.60 to beat them. 

White anchored the 4x400 team to a third-place finish as well with Coleman Mayer '27, Noah Smith '27 and Avi Gupta '25. Gupta led the 4x800 team to fourth place with Beauford Mathews '25, Smith, and Matthew Noble '25.

LT Nguyen '27 ran to a third-place finish in the 3200, and Walter Cart '26 finished third in shot put with James Segneri '26 (5th) and Grayson Herndon '25 (6th, 4th in discus) also having a good showing.

Asher Green '26 earned fifth place in the 800.

Henry Rice '25 battled an ankle injury to get 6th in long and high jump (Ford Hunter got 5th) and 8th in triple jump.
