Soccer wins VISAA Championship

Fifth VISAA title in program history.
The varsity soccer team won the state VISAA championship Monday, November 14 2-0 over Trinity Episcopal at City Stadium.

It was the fifth title for the Saints in the history of VISAA, and StC's first since 2016.

It was no surprise that Wes Wise '23 (Frankling & Marshall) had his fingerprints on the victory. He scored off a header after a nifty cross from Beck Mumford '23 in the 31st minute for the second-seeded Saints.

Then about 30 game-play minutes later, Wise manuvered around several Titans and was pulled down in the box, drawing a red card and a penalty kick. He calmly buried it for what stood up as the final margin over No. 4 TES.

Keeper Rex Alphen '23 (Bucknell) led his defense, posting its third straight shutout of the tournament, and had a few sterling saves.

This Saints team finished the season 16-1-4. Well done, Saints!
