StC alumnus is a rising star in the San Antonio Spurs.
We're happy to share the news that St. Christopher's School alum William Hardy '06 is now Assistant Coach for the San Antonio Spurs basketball team. Hardy, who played varsity basketball at StC for three years and served as captain, joined the Spurs in 2010 as an intern and steadily worked his way up to earn his new position.
Hamill Jones, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at St. Christopher's School, remembers a time when Hardy conducted a special training session for StC players:
"It was a tremendous experience for our players to work with Will. He was so knowledgeable and masterful at communicating the details of the game, including the importance of making all different types of lay-ups! Our players loved the opportunity to work with him. I know I appreciated it because Nick Sherod and Alexander Petrie were pretty good by then and had been on the varsity for a while, so it was fantastic to have an NBA coach teaching them and providing a new challenge. We all learned a lot that day!"
Way to go, Will! The StC community is proud of you.
