Track takes Prep League title

Omohundro '19 scores 56.5 points in MVP effort.

The outdoor track team won the Prep League meet, outpacing second-place Collegaite 137-105 Saturday afternoon.

The meet was finished indoors as thunder and lightning surrounded the area during the 200, leaving the 3200 and 4x400 to finish on the indoor track. The Saints had things wrapped up by then, thanks in large part to meet and field event MVP Elby Omohundro '19.

The UVA signee scored 56.5 points for the Saints, including three gold medals in the long jump (22-4), triple jump (45-8 1/4) and 4x100 with Meyann Avele-Eya '20, Julian Taylor '21 and Jayden Smith '21. Omohundro also earned three seconds (high jump, pole vault, discus), third in the shot put and fourth in the 110 hurdles.

Ian Smith '20 earned All-Prep honors running a blazing, personal-best 49.36 in the 400. The Saints had several other athletes put up their best performance at the right time, like Hank Feiler '20 and his fourth-place shot put of 44-1 1/2, and Jayden Smith scoring in five events, including second in the 110 hurdles.
