Baseball wins Prep League

Third straight title, 11th in 16 seasons.
The varsity baseball team avenged a 1-0 loss earlier in the week to down Woodberry Forest 9-0 at home to clinch the Prep League title.

This is the Saints' third straight Prep League championship, and the 11th in the past 16 seasons.

Patrick Routsis '19 was phenomenal on the mound, as the ODU signee scattered five hits in a complete-game shutout.

At the dish, Griff O'Ferrall '21 continued his torrid pace, going 3 for 4 with three runs. Carter Schmitt '21 (2 RBI) and DayMone' Fleming went 2 for 3.

The Saints then dropped Goochland 6-2 Monday, May 6. O'Ferrall (2 runs) and Fleming (2 RBI) were 2 for 4, and Schmitt knocked in two runs. Charlie Vozenilek '19 got the win, pitching 5 1/3 innings. Freshman Jacob Carnley earned the save.

The Saints will celebrate their seniors Thursday, May 9 at 4:30 pm as they host Fork Union Military Academy.
