FULL RESULTS

The indoor track team took the Prep League meet by a wide margin Saturday, topping second-place FUMA by 65.5 points.

The Saints won eight of the 15 events, and took five of the top 10 spots in individual overall points:

#1 — Elby Omohundro (46 pts.)
#3 — Frank Royal (22.5 pts.)
#5 — Jayden Smith (18.5 pts.)
#9 — Ian Smith (12.5 pts.)
#10 — Neal Dhar (12 pts.)

Omohundro, a senior headed to UVA after graduation, was his usual all-around self. He won the high jump (6-2), got second in the pole vault (13-0), shot put (44-4 1/4) and triple jump (45-8 3/4), and was third in the long jump (22-1) and 55 hurdles (7.97). Jayden Smith '21 took the 55 hurdles in a personal-best time of 7.85 beating his mentor.

UCLA-bound Frank Royal '19 had a dominant meet as the long jump champ (22-10 1/2), 55 champ (6.52) and anchor of the 4 x 200 relay team along with Cole McCoy '20, Meyann Avele-Eya '20 and Jayden Smith.

Another Smith, Ian Smith '20, ran a blazing 1:06.01 in the 500, a new school record, for the win. He also helped the 4 x 800 team to a win with Christian Johnson '21, William Tune '20 and Hank Valentine '20. Sully Beck '20 was the only runner to break 10 minutes in the 3200.

The Saints will attempt to add a VISAA title to its resume starting at 10 am Saturday, Feb. 16 back in the field house.
