Saints Capture Prep League Title

The Saints Swim & Dive team was victorius on Saturday, capturing the Prep League Title. 

Gray Broaddus '20 and Bridger Thurston '19 started things off for the Saints on Friday night with the diving. Broaddus took second place, and Thurston took sixth place.
 
The Saints got off to a hot start Satruday morning with a third-place finish in the medley relay. Hunter Sundlun '20 finished third in the 200 free. Sean Hogan '19 broke the VPL record in the 200 IM en route to a win, and Will Stevens '21 also had an important sixth-place finish in the 200 IM. Nick Washington '21 finished second in the 50 free, going a 22.39, which is his best time of the season. 

Hagan Aldridge '19 swam to two fourth-place finishes in the 50 free and the 100 fly. Miles West '20 came up huge with a second- and third-place finish in the 100 free and 100 back. Aubrey Bowles '21 finished the 500 free in second place, and Harry Farley '20 dropped over three seconds in his 100 breastroke. 

The excitement of the day came in the 200 free relay. The relay battled with Norfolk Academy for the win, and the Saints came out victorius with a new VPL and school record. The team of Miles West, Hunter Sundlun, Nick Washington, and Sean Hogan went a 1:25.99, shattering the old school record. The Saints also won the 400 free relay, edging out Collegiate to secure the win. 

Brandon Davis, Emory Wise, Russell Richards, Aidan Menen, and Zack Kirsner all got their first state cuts of the season. 

The Saints have this week off before they have to go up to Stafford for the VISAA State Championship on Feb. 15 & 16.
