Alexander '19 picks Chapel Hill

132-pound wrestler will continue at UNC.
Wrestler Connor Alexander '19 has picked UNC-Chapel Hill to continue his wrestling career.

Alexander wrestled at 132 pounds last year and was first-team All-Metro and an All-American. He is the three-time defending state VISAA champion.

"I'm really happy for Connor that he decided to choose Chapel Hill," coach Ross Gitomer said. "They are coached by two Olympic and World Team members who both competed right around Connor's weight class. He will have great training partners and great people around him."

Alexander was successful last year despite competing with a torn bicep and torn labrum. He's looking forward to his senior year and beyond.

"My pace needs to be higher. I need to get better endurance," Alexander said. "That's something that you can't be lacking [in Division I wrestling]. There's no way you can compete without being strong in those two areas."
