Valentine '19 chooses Sewanee

Third lacrosse Saint in past four seasons to head to the Tigers.
A bit of a pipeline is being established from St. Christopher's to Sewanee.

Luke Valentine '19 is the latest lacrosse player to commit to the Tigers of the University of the South. Thomas Lynde '15 is entering his senior season with the Tigers, and Jack Gillenwater '17 will be a sophomore.

"I really like the campus, the team and the coaches," Valentine said. "I felt really good when I went to the campus."

Valentine felt even better in 2018, leading the Saints with 45 goals and notching 12 assists on his way to first-team All-Metro honors.

He returns with two other highly-touted scorers, Davis Gillenwater '19 (Mercer) and Hartley Jordan '19 (VMI), along with a slew of other laser shooters.

"We did not lose that many seniors, so our offense is looking really strong ... I think we'll be good."
