2016 VISAA Division I All-State TeamThe varsity football team placed eight players on the 2016 All-VISAA Division I team.
FIRST TEAMWR Hayden Mitchell '17- Finally had a full season to be healthy and took full advantage. Led the Richmond area in receiving yards, averaging an astounding 27 yards per catch.
- Final stat line - 49 catches, 1,345 yards (school record), 14 receiving TDs (school record); 15 punt returns, 262 yards
OL Henry Schroeder '18- At 6-3, 270 pounds, Schroeder has turned himself into a Division I prospect, and had some impressive pancake blocks this season. Helped the Saints to the most prolific passing game in school history.
DB Will Forrest '18- Arguably the hardest worker in the football program. Earned a spot as starter at safety and took full advantage.
- Final stat line - 14 tackles, 5 interceptions, 4 pass breakups
DL D.T. Badley '17- Was a welcome sight after missing his entire junior year with a shoulder injury. At times unblockable.
- Final stat line - 52 tackles, 15 for loss, 5.5 sacks (1st on team)
SECOND TEAMQB John Damgard '17- After being named All-Prep as a wide receiver in 2015, Damgard switched to quarterback and set several school game and season records - passing yards, 2,697; touchdowns, 27; passing yards in a game, 421; passing TDs in a game, 6 - included.
- Final stat line - 172 of 282, 2,697 yards, 27 TDs, 10 INTs, long of 88, 1 rush TD
WR Justin Jasper '18- Two-time All-Prep pick had his best season, catching 45 passes for 664 yards and 7 TDs. Averaged 74 yards per game. Also had a rush TD against Paul VI.
LB Paul Thompson '17- The heart and soul of the defense, Thompson put up another impressive stat line to lead the team in tackles.
- Final stat line - 84 tackles, 12 for loss, 3 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery returned for a 60-yard TD.
RB Jens Ames '18- Averaged 5.2 yards per carry in StC's predominantly passing offense. Had his best games late versus Bishop Ireton and Collegiate.
- Final stat line - 77 carries, 401 yards, 3 TDs
HONORABLE MENTIONDBs Will Thomas '17 and Jackson Begley '17, and LB William Tappen '18 received honorable mentions.
