JV explodes in middle quarters

After scoreless first quarter, Saints put up 32 points
The JV football team used punishing long drives to defeat Norfolk Academy 32-6 Thursday afternoon in the home opener.

The Bulldogs managed only six offensive plays in the first half, while STC took a 20-point lead into halftime on two Jeb Bemiss '16 TD passes to Brandon Johnson '15 (27 yards) and Ned Tazewell '16 (20 yards).

Charlie de Venoge '16 added the other first-half score on a 5-yard run, and he recovered a loose kickoff to set up the Bemiss-to-Tazewell connection at the end of the half.

In the second half, Bemiss tossed his third TD pass, again to Tazewell for seven yards.

In the fourth period, the Saints got their last score as fullback Grayson Meck '16 busted up the middle for a 15-yard run.

The Saints moved to 3-0 and will host Benedictine at 4:30 pm Thursday, September 27.
