Seven Saints named to all-Prep football team

Seven football players were named all-Prep League, including Fleet Wallace '15, the offensive MVP.

Wallace caught 42 passes for 915 yards and 11 scores for the Saints, and was the top yardage gainer per game in the Metro area. Collegiate's Strib Walker shares the honor with Wallace.

Other offensive selections for StC were senior offensive linemen Henry Stillwell and John Tyson. They helped the line pave the way for over 3,000 yards of total offense.

Kicker Thomas Cottrell '15 nabbed his second straight all-Prep bid. Cottrell racked up 50 points, going 7 of 12 from field goal range and 29 of 30 on extra points (one blocked). He also had 15 touchbacks.

Defensively, three Saints made the team. On the defensive line, Tazle Sumpter '16 was picked. "Sump" had eight tackles for loss, 20 total, and registered 2.5 sacks.

Sean Menges '16 earned a linebacker spot as the leading tackler for the Saints (95). He had seven tackles for loss and two interceptions, one returned for a score. He also had a fumble recovery and a safety.

Speaking of safety, Wilson Bedell '15 made the team from his secondary spot. He racked up 47 tackles and a team-leading four interceptions. He also had six pass breakups.
