Notre Dame it is for Brown '15

The soccer standout chose the Fighting Irish, among many options.
Myles Brown '15 committed to Notre Dame to continue his soccer career.

Brown is a United States Soccer Development Academy veteran, and had a final list of Brown, Bucknell, Georgetown, Lafayette and Penn State. The Atlantic Coast Conference, the elite soccer conference in the NCAA, and Notre Dame's program and academics were just too much to pass up.

"I decided to choose Notre Dame because I had built a strong relationship with [ND head coach Bobby Clark] over the last few months," Brown said. "After seeing the campus through a camp environment with one-on-one attention from the coaches and players, I knew immediately that Notre Dame was the team that I wanted to play for."

Usually a center mid, Brown is talented enough to find himself all over the field. Defensive center mid is what the Irish recruited Brown for, but things could change based on the team's needs.

"The class before me is graduating 10 seniors, so it will be a rebuilding year when I arrive," Brown said, "which leaves a lot more space for me to get playing time."

Saints soccer fans might not be very familiar with Brown. He hasn't worn an StC uniform since 7th grade when he played on the 8th grade bulldog team for Mark Holloway and Brian Zollinhoffer.

The Academy commitment prevents him from playing, along with other promising StC students like Drew Romig '16 to name one.

But the 6-2 athlete did play for the Saints in an exhibition match versus Lindisfarne College this past spring.

Brown joins Wilson Bedell (Furman, lacrosse), Garrett Taylor (Michigan, football), Fleet Wallace (Cornell, lacrosse) and Parker Widhelm (Furman, lacrosse) as 2015 commitments from St. Christopher's, all at the Division I level.
