Soccer earns national ranking

Coach Jay Wood named state coach of the year.
The VISAA state champion soccer team continues to roll in the honors, and rightfully so.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) ranked St. Christopher's as the No. 2 team in Region IV.

The region includes all schools that play fall soccer from Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. Region rankings include the top 15 teams.

In the NSCAA National Top 25 Poll, the Saints earned a No. 10 ranking. It's the first end-of-season NSCAA ranking for StC.

Additionally, head coach Jay Wood earned VISAA state coach of the year honors in helping the Saints to a 23-1-1 record and four championships (three tournament, one regular season).

Wood, in his 24th year as head coach, earned his 300th career win this season.
