Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy '06 was recently featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch after his first season as an NBA head coach.

Hardy was a front-runner for NBA coach of the year after the Jazz surprised out of the blocks, challenging for a Western Conference playoff spot. The team came back to earth a bit to finish 37-45, still an impressive run for a team in transition.

Christopher Newport's Burke Widhelm '18 and Hampden-Sydney's Gaines Weis '21 were each named second all-state by the Virginia Sports Information Directors after leading their teams to successful seasons.

Widhelm ranked fifth in the league in caused turnovers with 32, ranked 10th in the program's history.

Weis, a midfielder, grabbed 34 groundballs and caused 21 turnovers. He also reached the net seven times and had eight assists.
