Middle School language instruction relies on movement, skits and stories

"Comprehensible Input" Method relies on stories and skits to put context to learning vocabulary
Senora Turner's 6th grade Spanish students aren't busy writing down and memorizing vocabulary words--they're moving and acting out what new words actually mean. This engaging and interactive model of language learning is called "Comprehensible Input," or CI. It's tailor-made for 6th grade boys who aren't known for their capacity to sit still.

"It has to be interesting for the boys," says Fran Turner, MS spanish teacher and Director of Global Engagement. "What I'm giving the kids has to be as personalized as possible."

Presently, all Lower and Middle School language instructors are integrating the method into their teaching. More information about CI is available at http://bit.ly/2jHgWKE.
