The fellowship helped me to make a gradual, natural, and comfortable transition. Starting with classroom observation and co-teaching, I learned to lead classes entirely on my own, and I came to place high value on the idea of “learning by doing.” The fellowship’s guidance helped me establish a solid foundation for my teaching that I use in the classroom everyday, and I’m deeply grateful to have been able to begin my teaching career as a Childrey Fellow."
