Essex '14 headed to Georgia
The offensive lineman gets a preferred walk-on spot with the Bulldogs.
St. Christopher's offensive lineman/long snapper Alex Essex '14 is headed to Georgia as a preferred walk-on.
Essex was a two-year starter for the Saints and a leader of the line at center that helped pave the way for one of StC's all-time leading rushers in Ganon Hingst '14.
Essex also had a similar opportunity at the University of Virginia, but Essex's father Mike through e-mail said, "Georgia simply felt like the right fit to [Alex]."
Essex (6-4, 265) joins John Fiorelli '14 (Navy) from the class of 2014 as players that will continue their football careers.
