Upper School credit courses are open to all students seeking summer enrichment opportunities. Summer grades will not be used in the calculation of a student's GPA; however, these courses will be recorded on the student's transcript.

  • Biblical Studies

    Rising 9th - 12th Graders

    Students will focus on the backdrop provided by the Old Testament as found in Genesis and Exodus, and the fulfillment of God’s plan for mankind through Jesus Christ as related in the New Testament Gospels.  This Biblical Studies course is typically taken for a semester in the 10th grade and is required of ALL St. Christopher’s students. In addition, all students must complete another semester elective in Religion during their junior or senior year.

  • Geometry

    Rising 10th - 11th Graders

    This course fulfills the school's requirement and is intended for those students who would like to pursue an accelerated path in Math. This fast-paced course covers the core topics of Euclidean geometry and is designed for strong, motivated students. It meets the requirements of the St. Christopher’s mathematics department. **Prerequisite is Algebra I. Algebra II is suggested, but not mandatory. St. Christopher’s students must get approval from the Upper School Math Department Chairman to take this course.

  • Health 9

    Rising 9th – 12th Graders

    This course is intended to fulfill the Health requirement for rising 9th graders. Summer Health 9 covers all of the information studied in the regular school-year semester class. We will focus on physical components of human health by studying different body systems: Digestive, Endocrine, Reproductive, Nervous, Muscular, and Skeletal. Throughout the course we will look at what behaviors and choices will help students live longer, happier lives. Students will read and examine various sources and think critically about strategies for optimal health. Students will be in class from Monday, June 10th through Friday, June 28th and take the final exam on Monday, July 1st.  There are no required texts for this course. Class will meet in room 101 in the Kemper Athletic Center.

  • Intro to Moral Philosophy

    Rising 11th – 12th Graders

    This course for credit fulfills St. Christopher’s religion requirement for 11th-12th grade. In this online course, we will read and discuss the classic models for making moral decisions and examine contemporary ethical issues occurring in our society today. Included in our survey are Cultural Relativism, Natural Law, Divine Command, Egoism, Utilitarianism, and Kantianism. Assessments will take a number of forms and will be completed online. This course is designed for students who are self-motivated and organized.

  • Health 10

    Rising 10th - 12th Graders
    June 24 - August 7

    This course is intended for students who are not planning to take Health 10 during the academic year. The class focuses on social, emotional, and behavioral habits that students can use to help live longer, happier lives. Topics include: school, friends, parents, self-image, dating and sex, and addictions. The summer session of Health 10 covers all of the information studied in the regular semester class. The two required textbooks for this course are, The 6 Most Important Decisions You'll Ever Make by Sean Covey and A Better High by Matt Bellace.
    All students will meet June 24 - 26 from 2:00-4:00 pm for an introduction and preparation for the online material. From June 24- August 7 students will need a reliable Internet connection for the duration of the class. Coursework will ask students to read, write, post messages, make videos, and work with classmates online. The final exam is due on August 7th.

  • Adventures in 2nd Grade

    The Calculus Boot Camp focuses on improving skills and building confidence to help each student be prepared for Calculus. Students will review all major algebra concepts, as well as trigonometry through independent practice, small groups activities, and one-on-one instruction.
