St. Christopher’s embraces the Episcopal School tradition that sees each person as a child of God, that values inclusion and spiritual growth, and seeks to educate students for lives of meaning and service.
Recognizing that we are all part of something larger than ourselves and serving others are at the foundation of a St. Christopher’s education. From participation in chapel services, fundraisers, and a wide variety of hands-on community collaborative projects, all our boys (JK-12) learn that they have the capacity and responsibility to help those around them— around the corner or around the globe. As leaders, our students know that service to others is their highest calling.

Our founder, Dr. Churchill Chamberlayne was an Episcopal priest who recognized the significance of daily chapel in undergirding the school’s core values. Dr. Chamberlayne wrote the school prayer and developed a form of daily worship, framed by Psalm 111, which is still used today.

Lower and Middle School boys gather for chapel several times a week; Upper School boys start every day in chapel. Alumni repeatedly remember this daily gathering as the most memorable ritual of their St. Christopher’s experience.
