Saints edge out Benedictine in an offensive thriller

by Noah Switzer '25
Wednesday, February 1st, the Freshman basketball team hosted Benedictine in their second meeting together. After losing the first, the Saints got their revenge winning 61-58.

After a slow start, the Saints offense caught fire with 3 players scoring 10+ points and 9 total players getting on the board. James Ayers ‘26 and Collin Johnson ‘26 led the team with 14 apiece. The Saints had lost 54-38 in their last game against Benedictine and found themselves down 7 early in the 4th quarter. Thanks to an outstanding team effort, and exceptional defense from Collin Johnson ‘26 and Austin Wrinkle ‘26, the Saints were able to squeak out a victory.

Next Friday, February 3rd, at 4:30 pm, the  Saints will host John Paul the Great where they hope to continue their success.
