Varsity Soccer secures #2 seed
Will host 7-10 winner in VISAA quarters Monday, Nov. 7.
The varsity soccer team erased a 1-0 deficit to defeat Woodberry Forest 2-1 on the road Friday, October 28.
The pivotal win gave the Saints a bye in the approaching VISAA state tournament and the #2 seed. StC will host the 7-10 winner on Monday, November 7. The No. 7 seed is Bishop O'Connell, No. 10 is St. Stephen's/St. Agnes.
The Saints didn't reach the net until the 70th minute at Woodberry, on a cross from Wes Wise '23 to Gerrett Broussard '23. Broussard beat the keeper for the tie.
About 15 minutes later, Manoli Loupassi '23 had a long throw-in into the box that was handled with a hand by Woodberry, which resulted in a penalty kick. Wise calmly knocked in the PK and the Saints held on for the win.
