Kent Goode '22 was named boys lacrosse All-Metro player of the year Thursday, July 28 by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Goode is the third consecutive Saint to receive the honor. Chase Mullins '21 (UNC) earned the award in 2021, and Luke Valentine '19 (Sewanee) did the same in 2019.

Goode, headed to UNC, obliterated StC's record book:
- Saves in a season, 318; previous record 183
- Saves in a career, 532 (done in mostly two seasons of play)
This past season he saved 74% of the shots he saw, a mark most goalies would die for with the amount of attempts Goode saw, prompting 34-year head coach John Burke Sr. to call Goode "the best player I've ever had."

Goode had help this season in leading the Saints to a Prep League title and state semifinal berth, in part from first-team All-Metro picks Jack McCoy '22 and Miles Harvey '23, and second-teamer Davis Mack '22.

McCoy tallied 43 goals and 40 assists in 2022.

Harvey grabbed 45 ground balls while totaling 33 goals and 14 assists.

Mack, a Hampden-Sydney pledge, put in 32 goals and had nine assists.
