7th Grade FB caps off season with victory over Collegiate

by Wright Hilbert '24
The 7th grade football team ended the season on a strong note, by beating Collegiate 28-0.

Quarterback Will Ackerly led the way with a ridiculous, Lamar Jackson-type scramble for a touchdown, and a TD pass to Ollie Davila (as pictured). The run game was also strong with Lance Clelland punching in a score for the Saints. QB Luke Switzer got some reps and ended up throwing a TD pass to Clarke Dillard.

For special teams, the Saints look to have found their kickers for future years with William Sterling and Chase Buerlein both making PAT's. The team also shined on defense, allowing 0 points behind Whitfield Mullins' 4 TFL's and 2 sacks.

Head coach Stephen Lewis said that "this was the most complete performance that I've been a part of in my 6 years as a 7th-grade football coach. The boys played with tremendous effort and executed very well. I couldn't be prouder."

After that victory, it is safe to say that St. Christopher's is in good hands with this 7th Grade class.
