PRESS RELEASE

Griffin O'Ferrall '21 was recently named Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League player of the year, after hitting .404 for the Auburn Doubledays this past summer.

His .404 average led the entire league. He also had a .466 on-base percentage, 29 stolen bases and 12 doubles. Each mark ranked in the top four of a league full of current college players, as O'Ferrall had yet to start his first official day as a Virginia Cavalier.

This ends a fantastic summer for O'Ferrall, who was also named Prep League, VISAA, All-Metro and Virginia Gatorade player of the year.

"I'm thankful for all my coaches throughout my life," O'Ferrall told PGCBL.com. "Every team I've ever played on I've gained knowledge and tried to use everything that I've been taught. I especially want to thank my parents for everything they've done."
