Lacrosse ends game on 12-0 bolt

Will face #2 Episcopal Friday in VISAA semis.
The varsity lacrosse team held Woodberry Forest scoreless over the final three periods en route to a 13-4 victory Tuesday, May 18 in the quarterfinals of the VISAA state tournament.

The teams had split the season series, with each winning at home, 8-7. The contest started with WFS in full control, leading 4-1 after the first period with all of the momentum.

Then things changed.

StC ripped off four goals in the second period to hold a 5-4 lead at halftime. The Saints, seeded third, got two goals after a brief stalemate in the third, then Jack McCoy '22 and Miles Harvey '23 reached to end the third period up 10-4 as the offense dominated and the defense settled in in front of keeper Kent Goode '22.

Christian Matthews '21 then buried two straight goals in the middle of the fourth period, and the damage was done.

StC will visit #2 Episcopal Friday, May 21 for a chance at a VISAA title on Saturday. #4 Norfolk Academy visits #1 Paul VI in the other semi.
