Director of the Arts at St. Christopher’s

We're thrilled to share the news that Mrs. Kerry Court will join us this summer as the inaugural Director of the Arts at StC.
Dear Saints Parents,

In January, we announced an ambitious and exciting agenda for St. Christopher’s School with the launch of our new strategic plan, Momentum 2025. A key goal in that plan is to strengthen and expand our arts programming and curricula, ensuring that the arts are integrated and celebrated in the same manner as other aspects of our programming.

Today, I am thrilled to share with you that we are taking an exciting step toward achieving that goal. On July 1, Mrs. Kerry Court will begin her tenure as the inaugural Director of the Arts at St. Christopher’s.

Kerry’s primary charge will be to lead and oversee the performing and visual arts departments and programs at St. Christopher’s in a cohesive manner for all grades, JK-12. She will collaborate with arts faculty at St. Christopher’s and St. Catherine’s on the delivery of outstanding arts instruction throughout the School. Kerry will serve as a key member of my senior administrative team, acting as the voice and advocate for arts programming throughout our school.

Kerry will also oversee and help to develop and utilize our new 30,000 square-foot Arts Center and Recital Hall, ensuring optimum use of the facility for both St. Christopher’s students and faculty and for members of the greater Richmond community.

Kerry is a familiar face to many in our Saints community, having served as a treasured member of the St. Catherine’s music faculty from 2011 through 2019, with leadership as the co-chair of the music department and as the Middle and Upper School Choral Director and Musical Director. Kerry and her husband, Ben, moved to Washington, DC, in 2019, and over the past two years, she has served as the assistant director of Choral Music for St. Albans School and National Cathedral School, growing choral enrollment and musical programming for both schools.

Kerry earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Bucknell University and a Master of Music degree in Conducting from Eastman School of Music. Kerry, Ben, and their son, James, are delighted to return to Richmond and to the Saints community this summer.

“I'm thrilled to be joining the St. Christopher's team to work with colleagues I admire and a community I love,” said Kerry. “I'm excited to support the amazing programs already in place and to explore the world of opportunities for growth and innovation created by the new Arts Center.”

We look forward to introducing you to Kerry this summer and to her leadership in support of the continued growth and elevation of the arts at St. Christopher’s.

Yours,
Mason Lecky
