The Power of Staying Positive

Dr. Ann Vanichkachorn provides useful strategies for a challenging time.
For most of us in the Saints community, living with the realities of COVID-19 started right around Spring Break. However, for students at NYU Shanghai such as my son, Josh, and his friends, they have been distance learning and away from the joys of being in “college” since the beginning of February. 

Watching their resilience and ability to make lemonade out of lemons is both inspiring and humbling. One of the first things Josh and his friends did was to take charge of their mental health, capturing the small moments as they went further into the unknown. Fostering positive emotions is well researched and well documented. 

In fact, staying positive during the coronavirus crisis will boost our emotional resilience, help keep our immune systems strong and allow us to think more clearly!
