Teams come up with sayings and mantras all the time. Very few achieve their goal.
The 2020 swimming & diving team completed their preseason rallying cry - One Team, One Goal - by taking the VISAA state title in dominating fashion.
"Every Saint brought something different and important to this team throughout the season," coach Bucka Watson said. "Whether it was a fast swim, support for a teammate, a small stroke improvement, or a cheer, we hope each of you know just how valuable and loved you are.
"Thank you for making this season so meaningful."
Miles West '20 won the 50-yard freestyle in a school-record 21.04, and also paced the school-record breaking 200 free relay champion with Hunter Sundlun '20, Emory Wise '21 and Nick Washington '21 (1:25.01).
Aubrey Bowles '21 subbed in for Wise in the 400 free relay as the Saints placed second.
The 200 medley relay squad of A. Bowles, Harry Farley '20, Tee Bowles '22 and Wise placed third. As did Sundlun in the 100 and 200 free, and Aubrey Bowles in the 500 free.
The Saints cleared second-place Woodberry by nearly 80 points.
