Basketball season closes at 17-7
One of school's most exciting hoops teams will be missed.
The varsity basketball team fell in the first round of the VISAA tournament 63-61 to rival Benedictine in heart-breaking fashion.
The Saints finished the season 17-7 with many memorable moments, and was one of the most exciting basketball teams that the school has ever fielded.
In the season finale, Gill Williamson '20 had game highs of 24 points and 11 rebounds, including a few poster dunks over Cadets. Andre Greene '22 had 11 points, Nigel Green '20 10 points and Keishawn Pulley '22 seven points, all in the fourth quarter, including a huge trey to tie the game at 59 late.
Six seniors depart the team, including captains Williamson and Walker Wallace '20, and swingman Green. Their length, toughness and athleticism will be hard to replace in the 2020-21 season. Thanks to seniors Jude Reiferson, Cameron Talibi and Austin Ford for their commitment and selflessness.
