The Saint Christopher’s 7th grade football team played Nansemond-Suffolk and lost 42-16.
Sonny Bridges scored on a 60-yard touchdown, and Stuart Cosby caught a 55-yard TD from Zach Davila.
During the game, Bryce Neely went down with a leg injury and will be out for the season.
“Bryce was just playing football, having fun and competing with all of his heart,” coach Lewis said. “It is unfortunate a freak accident happened to him. He’s a tough young man. I know he will come back strong. We will miss having him out of the field.”
The boys get back to action Tuesday, October 1 in their home opener hosting Collegiate at 4 pm.
