The cross country team competed in its first meet of the season at Patrick Henry High School. This meet was not like a typical cross country meet; it was a relay meet.

The team broke its own course record by 1:25. Captain Sully Beck '20 had the fastest split of anybody, clocking in at a 6:11 for 2000 meters. The relay team was composed of Beck, Hank Valentine '20, Neal Dhar '20, Johnny Whitlock '20 and Ian Smith '20. Cade Bridges '22 won the 'extras' race.

The cross country team will be back in action on Sept. 7 at the Pole Green XC Classic in Mehcanisville at 9:00 am.
