Futsal claims 2019 Valentine Classic
Saints beat Collegiate 6-0 in championship.
The futsal team won the 2019 Valentine Classic in impressive fashion, knocking off Collegiate 6-0 in the final Saturday, Feburary 16.
St. Catherine's student Ashley Boardman (Gray) and Sam Moore '19 (Red) were named to the all-tournament team. Alexander Levengood (Red) won the MVP.
The boys got started very early, scoring with barely a minute passed in the game, as Colin Reece '19 reached. The lead held at 1-0 before the floodgates opened. Moore scored three times, Levengood once and Alec Davis '19 also reached as the seniors took control.
The Red and Gray teams met in the semis, with Red winning 5-1. Red topped Benedictine 12-0 in the quarterfinals. Gray advanced on a forfeit from St. Anne's-Belfield.
