Wrestling earns first Escape the Rock Top 10

Turley wins second ETR title; Roggie '21 and Alexander '19 place third.
The wrestling team placed 10th at the prestigious Escape the Rock tournament at Council Rock South High School in Pennsylvania on January 20.

Rutgers signee Jackson Turley '19 led the way, winning his second ETR title in as many years. He won at 170 pounds last year, and took the crown at 182 this year. You can watch his championship match HERE.

UNC signee Connor Alexander '19 placed third at 138 pounds, and Erik Roggie '21 also got third at 106 pounds. 

Loudon Hurt '20 had the most impressive performance of his career, getting 7th at 170 pounds.

"Loudon Hurt finally had a breakout tournament, finally getting on the podium at a major tournament," Saints wrestling coach Ross Gitomer said. "Loudon is learning to compete at a high level against really strong competition."

The boys will wrestle Christiansburg HS at Virginia Tech Friday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 pm. Then the team will return to Richmond to battle Benedictine and New Kent at Benedictine. Wrestling begins at 6 pm.
