Saints put No. 1 on brink of elimination before losing 10-9.
The varsity lacrosse team gave No. 1 seed Paul VI all it could handle before falling 10-9 Tuesday in the state VISAA quarterfinals at George Mason University.
StC led 3-2 at half, tied the game at 5 and at 8 before falling. Michael Chapman '18 had perhaps his best game between the pipes of his career, stopping 11 shots.
Offensively, Will Tazewell '20 was a beast with four goals and an assist. Luke Valentine '19 scored twice. Hartley Jordan '19, Porter Lewis '20 and Brooks Council '21 scored once each.
