Levengood '19 headed to the Tribe

State soccer player of the year chooses William & Mary.
Alexander Levengood '19 will continue his soccer career at William & Mary.

The two-time state VISAA player of the year chose the Tribe, but also considered Lehigh, Elon, Navy and Penn, among others.

"Telling coaches you're not going to go there is a bit hard," Levengood said. "I think I made the right decision, and I'm happy with my decision, so I'm pretty relieved that it's over."

Opponents wish Levengood's high-school career was over, but he has one more year. The exceptional forward poured in a school-record 40 goals as a junior, and also had seven assists. He's the two-time state VISAA player of the year, and is a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American.

Before heading to Williamsburg, he's eager to help the Saints back to the state title game, having help the team win the title in 2016 and fall in the championship in 2017.

"I know the guys have been working hard in the spring, and I know they will work hard in the summer. So I think we're going to have a good chance of making a run again this year."
