Varsity Lacrosse Falls in Overtime at Episcopal

by Miller Farley '18
On Friday, March 23rd, St. Christopher's Varsity Lacrosse came up just short against Episcopal High School in a 13-14 overtime thriller.

The game was in both the Saints' and Episcopal's hands, as STC was leading by as many as five goals at one point in the game. Luke Valentine '19 led a surge of offense from the Saints, with six goals of his own. Valentine and the thirteen goals posted by St. Chris as a team weren't enough however, as Episcopal's Ricky Miezan, a top 25 Inside Lacrosse recruit who is continuing his athletic career by playing linebacker at Stanford next fall, took over for the High School. Episcopal roared back, tying the score at thirteen, and finally scored the winning goal in the extra period.

The Saints fought hard, and on most days scoring thirteen goals would be more than enough to secure a victory, so John Burke's men can hold their heads high after this one.
