Dunlevy '14, Petrie '17, Swanson '16 & Thomas '16 make headlines.
Charlie Swanson '16 - Michigan, Swimming
Swanson defended his Big 10 title in the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:39.16, and is only the fifth UM swimmer to complete the swim in under 3:40. It was also the fastest time ever in the University of Minnesota pool. He'll swim at the NCAA Championships March 21-24.
Swanson had a career best in each event, including the 200 IM (9th) and 200 breast (5th).
Earlier this week Petrie was named Patriot League Freshman of the Year. The 6-3 guard also was named to the league's third team, the only freshman member of either squad.
Petrie averages , first among freshman in the league and sixth overall.
The record setting hasn't ended for Thomas. Last year, he helped his 4x400-meter team set a school record in 3:11.11. A year later, the team 3:09.XX to finish third at the ACC Championships.
Thomas did collect some hardware of his own, helping the distance medley relay squad to a first-place finish in 9:38.31.
