New Mandarin Chinese course visits Terracotta Army exhibit at VMFA

On campus, the class has been learning about the Qin Dynasty and the terracotta warriors.
On Wednesday, Feb. 7 the new Mandarin Chinese class visited Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to see the terracotta warriors exhibition. The class, led by first-year faculty member Hanna Zhu, is comprised of boys in grades eight through ten, has been learning about the Qin Dynasty and the terracotta warriors. 

Students spent over an hour walking through the exhibit with VMFA docent Minh-Chau Truong, who gave a vivid explanation of the cultural and historical context of the warriors as well as the significance of some of the key displayed artifacts.

In the group photo, students are holding a sign that reads, in Chinese, "we love VMFA very much!"
