Hoops 3-2 through first round of league play

The varsity basketball team won its third straight game for the first time this season, dispatching Fork Union 58-47 on the road Friday, Jan. 19, and then returning home Tuesday, Jan. 23 to down Christchurch 69-64.

With the FUMA win the Saints moved to 3-2 in Prep League play behind Trinity Episcopal and Collegiate. Gibson Jimerson '19 led four scorers in double figures with 18 points. Arnold Henderson '19 hit four 3's on his way to 13 points, Justin Jasper '18 had 12 and Nigel Green '20 put in 10.

In the win over the Seahorses, Jimerson again led the way with 23 points, all in the first half after getting in heavy foul trouble in the second half before fouling out with 6 minutes left in the contest. Walker Wallace '20 was huge with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Green had 11, Jasper nine and Henderson eight.

Now at 10-5 overall, the Saints have an out-of-league visit to Saint John Paul the Great Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 pm.
