Saints Take Down Top-Ranked Battlefield and #2 Christiansburg

The varsity wrestling team beat Battlefield HS 43-31 on Saturday at George Mason University.
Battlefield came into the match ranked first in the state, but had a rough start after Erik Roggie '21 and Trey Ashby '18 started off the dual with back-to-back pins.
Jackson Turley '19, Carter Davis '18, and Jens Ames '18 all picked up pins of their own for the Saints, who made a statement after coming into the match ranked fourth.
The team then turned right around to beat second-ranked Christiansburg 32-22 on Tuesday. After a back-and-forth start, the Saints got some momentum after Jackson Turley got a close 3-1 win in his 170-pound matchup.
Jens Ames '18 sealed the overall victory with a 3-1 win of his own at 220 pounds.
StC downed St. John's College Friday on Senior Night, as the Saints have gone 3-0 in duals in the past five days.
St. Chris will host the VISAA Prep Duals this Friday and Saturday.
